Animating PSD's

Hi all,
I want to create a jazzy strap (lower 3rd) for a project I'm working on at the mo and looking at the various templates in LT i can see that you can animate PSDs using the LT effects.
However.. I don't seem to be able to figure out how to make my PSDs work in the same way.
For instance (and at the moment I'm just experimenting until i get how to do it all!), looking at the "Sea Foam" template (Lower Third (PAL)), it uses Ramp04.psd with the "Creation" effect. It appears that there's two seperate parts to the graphic (i assumed layers, but I think that's wrong), that come in, offset from each other.
I haven't been able to get LT to animate seperate layers in my PSD, then i noticed that in the text box, there are two glyphs, noting two iterations of the PSD??? Tried this, it still didn't work and I can't see what's making it happen on the template :/
I don't have Motion as my hardware won't hack it, and rather than go to AE, it'd be cool to figure out how to do this in LT, so any help would be much appreciated.

I haven't had time to really deconstruct that template, but the Ramp04.psd is just a one layer gradient. I am at a loss as to how they pt this one together.

You are correct that there is two iterations of the ramp04.psd. The second one has a motion texture from the Geometrics folder called Nouveau. That's where the animation comes from.
Hope this helps.

Aha!. Well I got close (scaling the Noveau, adding color and offsetting). To get two, just highlight the bullet in the Inspector window and copy and paste, and the second one appears. I'm sorry I don;t have the time to finish it out, but this should get you started.
