My mac G5 tower (2.OGhz, dual, OSX10.5.2) recently developed boot up issues:

When i turn it on, the monitors don't turn on. in fact, nothing happens.

So I turn it off, and immediately restart: it boots up with no issues.

this bothers me, since this is a new issue.

any suggestions on how to fix this?

you have an old computer - you do know that the G5 is VERY old, and that you should be running OS-X 10.5.8, which is as simple as hitting the SOFTWARE UPDATES. When is the last time you reloaded the operating system on this computer ? When is the last time you repaired permissions on this computer ? When is the last time you changed the battery inside this computer ?

Thanks Bob.
I will replace the battery. It's never been replaced.

I reloaded the OS last winter.

I can't update the OS above 10.5.4 because my Media Composer 2.8 won't work with a higher version of the OS.

I repair permissions often.
