Raid 50 failure
by Chris Paul on Oct 14, 2009 at 3:21:30 am

I have a pair of Rorke Data fiberchannel arrays striped together as a RAID50. The drive icon no longer appears on the desktop. Disk utility reports that the raid slices and raid set are online but does not see the single striped volume. Data Rescue cannot see it at all. Disk Warrior can see it but halts partway through creating a new directory. Any ideas?

Chris,

Sounds bad.

Have you tried calling Rorke for support? Playing around with failed RAIDS can be a chore if you don't know what's going on.

The best thing for you to do is get a Rorke expert, or technician to help you.
