Question Mark in a folder, Blue Mac Face, and Earth Symbols when I boot up.
by Jorge (jorge) on Mar 15, 2006 at 4:55:44 am

Ever since I installed Tiger, every time I boot up I get these little flashing symbols Before the Apple Logo comes up. It's weird because I installed Tiger on a Powerbook (G4 1.33 ghz) and on my IMac G5 (1.8 ghz) and this only happens on the IMac. Everything works fine after it's booted but it just doesn't seem right. The little "?" in the folder looks like the error when something is wrong with the start-up disk. And the Earth symbol I've never seen before.

Anyone have any idea what this means?

Thanks in advance,

Jorge

Symptom of looking for a network drive to boot from.
Go to System Preferences>Startup Disk and make sure that "Network Startup" is not selected as the Startup volume.

Yeah Chuck!!!

You are the man, problem solved. That was driving me crazy, everything worked fine after booting but it was super annoying.

Thanks,

Jorge
