The Digital Media Specialist is responsible for digital production of media related material. These materials can be video, audio, web related and for alternative means of distribution.
The position is responsible for the graphic design, production, and ongoing maintenance of a wide variety of traditionald and “alternative distribution-based materials (online, offline, kiosk, dvd etc), including orignal and templated sections of traditional offerings and new media programs as well.
The position is also responsible for providing expertise in Web standards, in Web and digital media software, and in Web/Flash-based scripting, and will contribute this expertise towards departmental decision-making as well as providing support to Edelman staff in creative usage of digital media.
The position works as part of a team-based environment, and is responsible for producing designs and media materials, which meet Edleman’s needs and which can be incorporated into programmed applications and template-driven or dynamically produced web sites, videos, power point presentations and more. The ideal candidate will combine knowledge of design processes and technologies for both video and Web with visual communication skills and the application of usability and information architecture principles and knowledge of applicable standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Design and Development of digitally based projects: planning, graphic design, design of system and information architecture, Video editing, project development and production, project documentation. Requires ability to communicate with and respond to client base and internal work teams.
•Design Standards and Branding: graphic design, documentation, production. Develop and maintain design standards for digitally-produced materials, including development of graphics, logos, standard layouts, etc., and production of derivatives for various purposes.
•Vendor Customization: graphic design. Redesign graphic elements and layout for multi-practice client base.
•Maintenance and Upgrades of Existing Projects: Ongoing maintenance of digital offerings, compressed video, client review website and related video materials.
•Research Training and Administrative: learning and investigating new technologies and methods. Keeps current on developments in the field of digital-based technologies, hardware and software. Maintain Library, edit database, varied billing documents and production schedules.
•client-facing experience, self starting mentality, ability to take team/client mtgs, etc… effectively.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Production Experience:
Produce photo and video shoots for editorial, commercial and advertising clients. Create/revise estimates, handle payment to vendors, preparation/submission client invoices. Facilitate photo shoot logistics: studio, scouting, location logistics, crew, equipment, digital, catering, props etc. Generate call sheets, maps and timelines for prelight and shoot days. Coordinate travel, hotel, car rental and permits. Oversee on-set photo and/or video shoots. Additionally, still and video camera (SD or HD) experience is a definite plus.
Post-Production Experience:
Working either with vendors or in-house editors, the candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing all aspects of post production (technical, logistical and monetary) for photo and video shoots and will work with art directors to best achieve the client’s needs. Editing skills are a must have.
Web Content Experience (a desire to learn in this area is a minimum requirement and some experience will set the top candidates apart from the rest of the field):
Responsible for the full lifecycle development process of small scale web site, banner ad and interactive projects from discovery, kickoff, execution and through to post launch phases. Implement plans, demonstrate expertise of workflow, manage estimates, budgets and resources for a variety of online creative assets. Set clear expectations for tasks and deliverables.
Print Experience:
Additionally, basic experience in print media production process will benefit the candidate, though not required.
Tools:
Photoshop, MSFT, MAC, Final Cut Pro, Flash, After Effects. Any additional design and/or motion content program experience a plus.

Hello, I currently work Full Time for a Post company performing just about every task you desribed and I'm actually looking at changing companies to someone that may be a bit closer to me. I am a whiz when it comes to performing these duties and I also ha
ve all of my own Apple equipment. The only thing you would need to invest in would be storage for your projects.
