Hello,
My name is Brad Golden and I am seeking employment with your company as I am relocating to the area. I am forwarding my text based resume for your consideration (a graphic based resume is available for download at www.bradgolden.com). I am a digital artist with broad-based skill sets including 2D/3D illustration and animation, photography, videography, as well as graphic and Web design. I am incredibly passionate about continued learning [my bedside reading is software manuals] and creating photorealism in my work.
I have read the description of what you are looking for in a new hire. I believe that I am the kind of person you desire and with the talent that you require. What am I looking for? I'm looking for a creative environment, where I can be part of a team of highly talented people - a place where I can stretch and push myself to new limits. I am looking for fair market compensation for my talent and hard work and as a family man, properly provide for my wife and children. Any perks beyond that is icing on the cake.
I am a former Marine and am proud of my service with the Marine Corps. Through their excellent training I've learned the importance of teamwork, professionalism, being both self-disciplined and self-motivated and being accountable to those around me. Your company creates amazing work and I want to 'enlist'!
Given the opportunity to be added to your team, I know I would be a valuable asset to your phenomenal organization. I am submitting to you as my demo reel samples of my renderings and animations, which can be found online at http://www.bradgolden.com and multiple examples of my web and graphic design work can be viewed at http://www.hiredgunstudios.com. I created all the imagery, animation and website designs seen on both sites. I can provide additional samples and references if required.
Thank you for taking the time to review my application.
Kind regards,
Brad Golden

p.s. I am hopeful should the position call for a college degree that my portfolio, extensive experience and my having served four years as a United States Marine will suffice.

2006 to Present
I have provided 3D renderings and animations for the architectural and construction industries.
2002 -2006
Moved to the central coast of California working as a contract designer for several companies doing graphics, advertising, Web design and 3D work.
2000 to 2002
I served as Lead Multimedia Instructor for Platt Design College of Newport Beach. During my tenure at the college, I redesigned the interior of the Multimedia Room, then spent many off-duty hours painting and remodeling the room, creating a very high-tech visual appeal, complete with surround stereo and audio visual display. The curriculum included courses in Lightwave 3D Animation, Video Production with FinalCutPro [including storyboarding, shooting, acquisition of digital video, editing and output to DVD], Motion Graphics in Adobe After Effects, Web Design in Macromedia Dreamweaver, Web Animation in Macromedia Flash. Final course was designed to bring all student projects [printed and interactive] into a final project, producing an interactive CD-ROM in Macromedia Director for use in soliciting design positions upon graduation. This was one of the most rewarding experiences in my career.
1996 to 2000
Founded and ran a graphic and Web design company called Flagship Imagery in San Clemente, California. During this time, I continued studies in computer illustration and 2D and 3D animation. Flagship Imagery produced both printed and interactive productions for many recognized names. A few are listed below.
Bristol-Myers Squibb - Online advertising for several products
Novartis Pharma - Designed company Intranet Web site
Entrepreneur Magazine - I designed the first Web presence for EM as well as many subsequent online ads
DrKoop.com - I produced many online ads for Dr.Koop.com as well as the logo that is still in use on this site today
Mirage Resorts - Produced initial Web presence for the Bellagio Hotel
1988 to 1996
Worked for several advertising agencies in Orange County, California. During this period I learned desktop publishing, paste-up, ad design, page layout techniques, typography, printing and color separation/film processes.
1984-1988
Served with the United States Marine Corps. My primary duties included business applications and fiscal management.
In 1987, I served as Battalion Fiscal Clerk - managing a budget in excess of 1.5 million dollars utilizing a DOS-based accounting application.
I was then honorably discharged from the Marine Corps in 1988.
1983-1984
Majored in Graphic Design in college. Studied illustration techniques for graphic and advertising design producing renderings ranging from live nude to product design. Emphasis placed on creating line art, logos and imagery with various media including pencil, Rapidograph technical pens and markers.
Graduated High School in 1982
