My little sister is looking into getting into game design. She is currently 17 years old, very bright, and driven. There are local colleges with a design program, but she's looking for a place that specializes in it. I couldn't think of anyone better to ask than my fellow Cow members. What schools would you reccommend? Thanks.

I went to school and live in Philadelphia PA - Even though this is one of the biggest college cities in the US, the only school I know of here that has a good game design program is the Art Institute. They have campuses in many other cities as well - seattle, chicago... aw heck - here's the link: http://www.artinstitutes.edu/CampusLocations/Default.aspx
I went to University of the Arts, which has a good media & communication major, part of which includes game design, but it also focuses on web design & graphic design.

I took a trip to Full Sail about a year ago, and I wasn't impressed. They have a lot of fancy lights and new equipment, but for me, that's not the most important thing. I never went there, so I can't really say. I go to College For Creative Studies in Detroit. It's a 4 year BS degree, and I love it. I must say, it's a totaly dif. environment. You might check it out.. Good luck!

I have to second the recommendation of the Art Institute. I just graduated from the Art Institute of California - SF and they offer a great Game Program. You can either study Game Design or Game Programming.
