Broadcast Designer needed in Boston

Must have working knowledge of:- Required applications in order to support all station design related needs. Applications including, but not limited to: Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, and Final Cut Pro.
- VizRt a plus.
- Current design trends.
- Typefaces and their application in multiple display formats.
- Chyron, Thunder, Smoke, Avid, tape machines, scanners, and digital camera.
- Element preparation needed for edits, pre-pro and VizRt and Duet. If necessary, must be able to sit in on edits and give clear, concise directions.
Expectations beyond technical/design:- Must be able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time.
- Must have ability to switch between different department needs such as motion, stills and print.
- Problem solving skills necessary to work with non-designers to help make their projects better.
- Must be able to take direction from Art and Creative Directors in a team atmosphere.
- Ability to work odd hours, holidays and be on call for breaking news stories.
- Good decision making in maintaining the station/news brand
and moving the brand forward in all design work.
