Ref Galery problem in Windows7
by Mihai Ciuncanu on Oct 14, 2009 at 9:15:07 am

Is Color Finesse2 supported in Windows7? I tried installing v2.1.7 plugin on my Windows7 machine in PremiereCS4. The plugin seems to work fine except I can't access the files in Ref Galery. Everything is blocked.
I also installed the same version of plugin on my Windows Xp machine and Ref Galery is working properly.

You should install the latest version of Color Finesse, 2.1.11, as we've made changes in that area.

As far as Windows 7 support goes, we have not officially qualified CF under Window 7 yet. We're not aware of any problems, but we need to do testing with the official released version before claiming compatibility. Microsoft (and Apple) are well known for sneaking changes into final versions that aren't in the earlier "golden masters" and we've been burned that way before.

I am running Windows 7 with AECS4 and using version 2.2.11 of CF2 LE and have the same problem with the Ref Gallery. The presets (both system and user) are grayed out. In fact, everything in the ref gallery windows is grayed out.

The presets are installed because you can load them either from the load button in the full CF window or by returning to AE and using the simplified interface. But, again, there is no ref gallery functionality.

I think Microsoft may actually sell a few copies of Win7 so I look forward to a version of CF2 LE that is fully compatible with it.

Thank you for reading.

It's not a simple fix (outside vendor involved, major API change, many sad tales of woe) so for right now the workaround is to use the Load button.

To make life easier, you may want to copy the presets to a directory that is easier to navigate to than the default one.

We'll get this taken care of as soon as we can, but it's not going to be a quick change.
