That's great, Bob.
This new update helped me solve two problems:
1- The graticules for PAL are there now.
2- I can see color finesse in Premiere also. Not just 2.1.11, even 2.1.10 is there. I had none, now I have two. (of course I'll delete the older version)
As about the curves in Premiere simple interface, they're working, but I feel a little be of latency in respond. I mean you can work, just you don't have that smooth feel of working with curves inside Finesse.

Glad the update solved those issues for you.
I agree about the sluggishness in the Premiere Pro Simplified UI. Unfortunately it's a limitation of how often Premiere Pro updates us with UI events. You'll see that the exact same code runs much more smoothly in AE (or FCP for that matter).

I get it. In After Effects everything is really smooth.
Making small updates is a very good thing because that adds new features and solves problems with no need to wait. What about a major upgrade like Color Finesse 3.0, can you give us any iformation about that?
I am PC guy, and that's not going to change because I don't like MAC (though I own one), and in Windows no CC software can even come close to Color Finesse for the price range. I like Finesse and in After Effects you can find almost every thing that Color Finesse lacks natively. I would like to stick to Finesse even if later I can afford a more expensive CC sofware. That's why I would be interested to know more about the future plans for the new versions of Finesse. And for sure that's not only me.

We have a major update coming, but past experience has taught me not to give projected dates. Not because of "corporate policy" but rather just because stuff happens.
We have incorporated many (most?) of the suggestions people have made here and elsewhere, so I think people will be happy with it.

The posting announcing the new CF 2.1.11, it says that now it supports Mac Premiere Pro CS4. However, the pdf instructions indicates the contrary. I hope that the pdf is incorrect.. If i really is now supported, where (please, specify path) the plug-in must be placed to be made available via Premiere Pro list of effects.
Re: Color Finesse 2.1.11 Update Now Available by Bob Currier on Nov 10, 2009 at 6:26:28 pm
The manual doesn't get updated for "dot" releases. The Read Me file contains the latest information, including the addition of support for Premiere Pro CS4 on the Mac in version 2.1.11.
Premiere Pro on the Mac is rather weird in its handling of plug-ins, as it has no dedicated location for Premiere-only plugins, which can cause conflicts with After Effects if care isn't taken.
To install Color Finesse 2.1.11 for use by Premiere Pro, point the installer to:
Note that After Effects CS4 also looks in this location for plug-ins. That means that if you install Color Finesse PI for use by Premiere Pro, it will conflict with the LE version of Color Finesse which is automatically installed by After Effects. The solution is to manually remove the LE version. To do so, remove the entire folder "/Applications/After Effects CS4/Plug-ins/Effects/Synthetic Aperture".
(I encourage people to point out this needless complexity to Adobe so they'll fix it in a future release. They rightfully pay more attention to real end users than us developers.)
Remember that Premiere Pro requires the "PI" version of Color Finesse.

Mr. Currier,
Thanks for your detailed response. However, the path you pointed out (/Library/Application Support/Common/Plug-ins/CS4/MediaCore) is not present on my computer. I attempted to basically create the path, and performed the installation there, but still Premiere Pro does not show the CF availability at all. The other path that you recommend to delete (/Applications/After Effects CS4/Plug-ins/Effects/Synthetic Aperture) does exist, but I am afraid to remove it, and suddenly not having it available for AE.

I just did a fresh install and everything worked as expected.
It's odd that you didn't have Adobe's Common folder. That should be created by the CS4 installer.
Be sure you are starting at the root when choosing the destination directory in the CF installer. You want the system's Library folder, not the one in your user home folder. Adobe doesn't search the user folder for plug-ins--which is another whole issue--so it has to go in the root Library.
Color Finesse will appear in the list of Video Effects in the Synthetic Aperture folder.
And, of course, only the PI version of Color Finesse will load into Premiere.

Mr. Currier,
My computer does not have the path"/Library/Application Support/Common/Plug-ins/CS4/MediaCore". I created it and installed the plugin there. However, it does not show up in Premiere as an available effect.
I am then worry to delete the file you recommended (/Applications/After Effects CS4/Plug-ins/Effects/Synthetic Aperture) and not being able to use it with After Effect.
