Firewire - need Echofire?
by Jim Arco on Jun 25, 2009 at 12:31:28 pm

I am using CF with AE CS4 (WinXP) and would like to see changes within the CF screen on a video monitor via firewire output. The only option that shows up in preferences in "computer monitor."

A quick search indicates that this might have been a problem in the past, but I can't see any reference to where it might be currently. Do I need EchoFire to get firewire output from inside CF?

Under Windows, the only video preview devices we currently support are the Blackmagic Design cards, and the AJA Xena cards when used with Cineform. We do not have any support for FireWire output.

Note that there is currently an issue with the Blackmagic Intensity Pro card on Windows (Mac is fine) but we expect to have that resolved shortly.
