Adding Particular in a LARGE 3d scene
by Justin Breen on Oct 24, 2009 at 3:05:31 pm

I created a scene in after effects using an idea from this commercial and wanted to know how to add particular in a large scene similar to the one where the orbs are flying over the ocean. I have the orbs and scene already built, I just need to add some particle lights throughout the scene. Also, if there is a way to add fog or atmosphere using trapcode into the scene as well for some extra spice help would be appreciated as well.

Thanks guys

What are you using for the orbs? A light? If so, just make a comp sized solid and apply particular. Have it emit from the light and you are good. If not, just link a null, or light or anything to the orbs location and picwip the particular emitter to it to have the emitter follow the orbs. As for ambience in the scene, Particular would be a little overkill for fog. I have found that a large box emitter with small spheres as dust adds alot of atmosphere and depth to the scene.

Hope this helps,

Mike Park
