Wake foam rendering

Hi

I wonder if anyone can help me with this...

I'm trying to create foam from a wake in a Maya ocean. I understand that the heat contol determines foam production. I can see the foam in the preview plane but when I render a frame there's no foam at all.

Any suggestions as to what might be going on here?

I've finally managed to answer my own question. I created an ambient light and now I can see the foam in the wake! Hope that's useful to someone.
