Subdivision Rendering problem parts render as low level 1proxy
by arlington cruz on Oct 27, 2009 at 5:41:49 am

Hello
I am doing an old Android tutorial with Subdivisions. When I render the model, some parts render as the low poly mesh version. I noticed that the Polygon cage wire frame was showing on the problem areas.(screenshot Pic below) These parts rendered fine when I had no material applied other than the initial lambert. Then problem occurs when I apply a material.
Has anyone had this problem rendering subdivisions before? Any hints would be greatly appreciated.

here some pics of the problem areas. First: screenshot, second: Problem render

Hi
I think you applied a shader to the cage, search the piece on the hypergraph and disconnect it.

Thanks so much for your help that worked! I am still fairly new to Maya and had been searching everywhere to solve that problem. Not sure why that wire frame or cage is still showing up on those parts even in standard mode, but I was mostly concerned about the final render so that works for me.
