Exporting a Maya into Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended.
by Jonathon Barlow on Sep 8, 2009 at 12:34:49 pm

Hi All,

I'm trying to export a Maya scene and import it into Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended, where it allows me to view the 3D model in a simple PDF format.
In the Maya scene i have converted any nurbs surfaces to polygons and deleted the history of everything. Then i export the Maya scene as a .obj file and then i load it up in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended.
The problem is when i have done this, the transparent phong materials i have used in the model are no longer transparent. Is there something i am doing wrong; settings for the material or polygon?

Any advice appreciated,
Thank you,
Jon

Maybe acrobat doesn't know what to do with an alpha? Why are you using it? You should have a pic viewer on your machine (either mac or pc) that would support alpha channels. You would be better off with photoshop or a similar image editing software.

Reality? What did you make it?
