Very basic photography principal... use a higher f-stop. Cranking your f-stop setting up (i.e., using a smaller iris) will increase (make deeper) the depth of field, and the higher you go the more that foreground and background elements will be in focus. Shorter lenses will also be more helpful rather than long ones.
Of course you will have to increase your lighting and/or slow your shutter speed to get the proper exposure.
