canon zr40 DV questions (NEED ANSWERED ASAP)
by Jason Harris on Jul 3, 2009 at 7:10:36 pm

Hi there

quickly i have a canon zr40 ntsc camcorder, we were filming fireworks for giggles the other week and we noticed they came out "blurry" as time is of the essence i will TRY to get a clip out to the web to see what i am describing, we are heading to NYC to film the fireworks and was hoping for a tip so we did not have a repeat occurence

is there any suggestions

""blurry" describes the fireworks coming in and out of foucs, maybe a mode setting or manual focus is needed, anything would help.

the camera is a couple years ol but shoots nicely, canon still shows it as an active item on their product catalog

thanks for the tips

Hi Jason,

If your camera is bobbing in and out of focus it's likely your auto focus trying to lock on to something. It's night so there is nothing there. Take the camera off auto and focus on infinity. You can test this again by trying to shoot the moon or a plane at night..

Happy forth and good luck!!
Chris
