Transfer video footage to my pC

really new at this. I have a Canon HF 10 really great. Got some new video footage want to transfer to my Vista 64 bit windows pc. Using Ulead videostudio 11.5 plus. The video has 16gb internal mem and I have a 4 gb sdhc card fitted. So far only transferred footage by copying to the 4gb card and then to pc.
Ulead says no video drivers found or device not connected. It is connected by USB and have the power lead connected to the vid cam. Am I missing something here?

Any help appreciated.
