Hello all,

I am hoping someone here might be able to point me in the right direction. I have been searching Google with little luck looking for a device that will allow me to capture footage from a camera to a PC laptop. The only device I have come across is made by Pinnacle, but it seems a little low end for me. I know AJA makes the XENA line for PC desktops, but is there anything similar for notebooks?

I look forward to your thoughts.

Cheers,
Nathan

If you can't use FW straight out of the camera, I think that something like the Blackmagic Video Recorcer would be the best thing. http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/videorecorder/
Can capture component, s-vid, or composite.

I took a look at that usb device. It is a little bit low end. I am looking for something more along a professional piece of equipment as opposed to consumer level. Any other suggestions?

Thanks again.

Here are a couple of choices -

1. the Snazzi external box product range; or
2. the Magma pci expansion boxes via PCMIA or Express Card, then fit in a pro PCI-e Capture Card (eg. Grass Valley Canopus, Matrox, Kona, Blackmagic, etc)
