Encore buttons not highlighting until after first loop, on AE motion menus

So I have a basic motion menu. All buttons are linked correctly and build is good to go.

When First Play begins, there is:
- "Play All"
- "Chapters"
- "Special Features"

Play all works perfectly fine and goes thru the Playlist. However, Chapters and Special Features, none of the buttons on those Menus are highlighted until after the first loop which is approx 40sec long, then it works fine.

I've scoured this forum, adobe, looked through Lynda, YouTube with no answers.

Can anyone advise? Thanks in advance!

More details, Chapters and Special Features each has 5 buttons including Main Menu button. Override is Not Set on anything. Default Button is "1". Loop point is at 10sec and Loop# is Forever.
