subtitles embedded in Quicktime file

Hi, I've been working with subtitling for the past year, but I've always produced DVD's as my final product.
I have a new client that wants the subtitles embedded in a Quicktime file. I usually use .stl files (Spruce Technologies) in conjunction with DVD Studio Pro. But the only way I can think of embedding the subtitles into a Quicktime file is to enter them into text layers in Final Cut Pro. This would be slow and arduous.
Any other methods?
Would Annotation Edit be able to handle this?

Unfortunately my boss charged by the job on this, so I don't have the option of charging by the hour.
I think there are options other than long-hand in FCP. In fact, I was able to do everything in Quicktime's Text Tracker, except for that its text outlining function doesn't work properly. Since I need my subtitles outlined, it was a no-go. But I can give you the method for that if u're interested.

Check out belle nuit. http://www.belle-nuit.com/ i believe you can import a stl file and export a xml file which can be imported in FCP.
An other option is:
make a dvd with dvdstudio pro and use your stl file. After you build your dvd you can use a dvdripping software package like handbreak to rip yor own movie again+the subtitle track. It isn;t the most beautiful solution but it can be used as a last resort. ;)

http://www.automaticsync.com/caption/howto_vids.htm shows you how to do this in QT Pro with a QT.TXT file.
You can get back both QT.TXT files (along with SCC and STL) when you submit your media and transcript to CaptionSync (this is an online captioning service).
