Mac mpeg encoding hardware?
by dylan Tucker on Jun 11, 2007 at 7:36:14 pm

Hello, I recently discovered that there are PCI cards for PC's that handle MPEG2 encoding instead of the CPU and can encode up to 2 times realtime speed. For someone that is constantly hindered by sometimes epic encode times, this sounded like a must-get. However, I only own a Mac-mini and a macbook pro. Are there any equivalents for me?

Thanks!

I believe Optibase still makes a Mac encoder board, but most MPEG-2 encoder boards are full size boards that don't fit into the smaller machines.
