Re: How much should I charge? What should a good rate be? Need asap! Thanks! by Clint Nitkiewicz Hernandez on Dec 18, 2006 at 12:54:40 am
Well this is for freelance gigs from post companys. $25 is too cheap per hour? What do you think I could charge per hour, I dont wan to offend the company and ruin the relationship if I bid too high. Can you recommend a rate for me? $35, $50 per hour? I know entry level is $15, but dont know the high end of the curve. I know I am leaning towards the high end, but dont want to bid too high. So can you just give like a number estimate what you think I am worth so I could get a rough idea. How much do the disney, pixar authorers, menu designers earn, and compared to guys like me with smaller clients.

I'm I guess it all depends on how much work you have at the time and how much you think your worth. I'm freelance as well and I'll charge anywhere from $350-450/day to $90.00 / hour. I just finished a disc similar to your. $2800.00 was the total. Remember, your freelance - you have a right to charge more than an hourly employee. Your stuff is great - I'd say $50.00/hr - thats what the guy who changes my brakes charges me :-)
