Battery Life in the Cold
by Graham Fisher on Aug 16, 2008 at 5:19:02 pm

I'm going to be shooting on Mt. Kilimanjaro in the first part of September. It'll be dropping near freezing at night the first couple days, then getting very cold as we approach the top. The 19k' summit will be sub-zero.

The trek lasts seven days.

I don't know if I can bring enough batteries to last the entire trip, or whether I should invest in a suitable solar panel. The shoot is very low-budget (it's a non-profit.)

I'm not good with electric and would really appreciate any input on whether any of these systems would be good enough to charge large Sony batteries suitable for the Z1U:

Thank you!
