How do people shoot panning time lapses. Are they just really good at panning slow? How does the image not become dark or over exposed over time? I there a device I would need to execute this move?

A friend of ours here in Phoenix is Ned Traver. He designed the CamTram dolly and sells it through AbleCinetech.
At our FCP meeting las month, he showed us a time lapse of one of his dollies moving sideways on track while it also panned. This rig was designed by a young man who owns one of his units.
I'll put a call into Ned to see if he can post the video. Maybe you can hook up with the genius that pulled it off.
