SATA to FIREWIRE Adapter
by Colin Wiencek on Aug 14, 2008 at 9:35:07 pm

Is there any type of adapter that can take a SATA drive and provide it power and then turn the SATA disk into a Firewire 800? It would essentially be a hard drive case but without the fan or the exterior of the case. I am building a rack based drive set and need to figure this out.

Thanks,
-Colin

there are countless products on the market today that have multiple inputs on them. You have a SATA drive and on the outside of the box are interface connections for FW400, 800, eSATA and USB2. Why on earth would you try to build it yourself when you can just go out and buy it (and get back to work, and make money !).
