It would be typical for someone who buys a 5 bay, then wants to add more and more and more, even though they should have purchased the 16 bay at the beginning. Please let me know. I have not seen the new AVID storage in person, but are you sure about the answer that you just gave me. The new AVID storage appears to be the AIC Xtore XJ100, and at NAB, Xtore told me that you could daisy chain up to 128 drives on a single SAS/SATA buss. Doesn't this mean that I can keep adding on AVID VideoRAID ST boxes over and over and over, simply by adding a mini SAS cable ?
