Trying to to projection mapping in AE.

I'm trying to create effects in this video.





Particularly at the 0:40 with the ground extruded down like that.
I have maya and c4d experience and training, I just have a short turn around time and want to know the best way to start this. Ideally, in AE. Any info on where to start with something like this.

Thanks for mentioning FreeForm Andrey. Yes you can do it with our stuff and it was bundled with CS5 - no longer with CS6 but still available on our website. You would need to create a displacement map and use that on FreeForm with our 3D displacement feature. But looking at the example shown, you can use a layer extruder too to do this. There are many scripts out there for layer extrusion simulation in CS5.
