Any way to remove not uniform white background from an animation sequence

Hi.

I have an animation sequence of a these hand.

The goal is to replace background with some texture.
I know the good old way to do it by hands,
but am very curious if exists some plugin like "stabilize color"

You might be able to create a matte using a combination of the Shift Channels and Levels effect on multiple instances of the footage in a nested comp.

Be warned: it will take a good deal of work to remove the white background.

Sorry for delayed answer.
Thanks for advice.

I was going to describe a little bit what I'd done.

I screened sequence on itself, and added white solid with rgb 240 240 240 in my case, to make background uniform. Then precomposed layers.
