what do you think? i explained my workflow on the right side of the video in youtube. i know it is nothing like scanner darkly, but i am trying to find the quickest way to get that effect. i wish i had more time on my hands to go frame by frame, but i don't :(
was wondering if you have any tips?
i am considering getting adobe after effects, as it would make my workflow much easier... that way i wouldn't have to shuffle between quicktime and sony vegas. it would just be AE and Photoshop.
i believe there is a way i can import images into photoshop from AE using something called 'film strip'... would appreciate any advice on how to make the video a little better
i am trying to somehow edit the video so that there is both a slight horizontal and vertical wave, so that the black outlines 'look' as if they were hand drawn..do you know what the best plugin for this might be?
i actually have two versions of this video. the first is the one without much edits. in the second i used a plugin from sony vegas which allowed me to do horizontal waves (but not vertical)
thx, here are the two videos, for the youtube video, you have to view in hd, or it looks like crap!

thx chris and stephen :)
i appreciate you linking those sites, i will definitely give the free one a try, but the other program also is tempting!
actually, today i took a 5 second footage of me brushing my teeth. i kept if at 5 seconds because i really really want to have a go at the 'scanner darkly' type processing. and from what i have read, i can imagine how long it would take!!
so i started with my first frame, and half way through my second i realized i have a life, and that this is just not possible!
but i didn't trash the 5 second clip. i kept on editing like crazy, i used a gazzilion filters in photoshoped to create an action that i used to batch process images that were spliced from the video file from quicktime. here are the results, i think i am getting closer to a scanner darkly mimic (but this one is in black and white unfortunately - that is the only catch :(

thx again stephen, infact i had a very similar idea. and i actually tried to do it, but after the second frame, i realized that it was going to be a very long term project. i am definitely up for it, but first i want to make a 2 minute video that is worth the hassle.
thx for the link... infact i am going to base my work exactly from it. cheers :)
here is another lame attempt at a 'mimic'.. no where near the same, but i guess that is the difference between 'filters' and actually rotoscoping :)
