Just Wondering...

Lately I've been trying to find a way to create something like the gel stuff in the middle of stargate. I cant find anyone who has a tutorial, no one replies or anything. Is there a memo I didnt get or does no one wants to do a tutorial.

What do mean by "gel stuff" in the "middle stargate" means... middle of a frame?... middle of a time line?...middle of what? What is "gel stuff"?

A site reference or picture or video sample would be useful.

You will want to use the Fractal Noise and/or Noise filter

With the noise and displacement map effects... you should be able create this effect.

In addition to fractal noise and displacement maps, Cycore's "CC Glass" filter would give you some nice popping in the specular highlights. Also, check out the PSUNAMI plugin: it wil generate exactly what you're looking for - but beware, it's very processor-intensive (will bog down even very fast systems) http://www.redgiantsoftware.com/products/featured/psunami/
