Litepanels Suggestions
by Tom Nelson on Oct 27, 2009 at 7:41:08 pm

My company is looking at purchasing Litepanel Minis to compliment our camera kits. We're going to go with the 5600k version (because we often have to supplement in daylight, and work often in naturally-lit labs.

My question for shooters who have had experience with the panels - should I go with the flood or the spot? Does the spot basically become a flood when diffusion is added?

I'm looking forward to being creative with these, and also appreciate any suggestions for unique uses for them.

Go with the spot version -- and add diffusion (such as opal or directional silk) as needed to "flood" the beam.
Unless you're working very close, the flood version won't be bright enough.
