Hmm, I know I must be missing something but I have 3 video tracks. V1, V2, V3

If I monitor V2 (which is above V1): V1 & V2 are visible.

If I monitor V3 (which is above all of them) V1 & V3 are visible but not V2!?

What am I missing?

V3 is covering what is on V2. Do you have something like Picture in Picture or an Animatte set up so you can see through V3?

First thought...is it called V3 because you reordered V2 and V3 and then renamed it to V3 because it is now on the top? (or is actually the 3rd track that was created?)

Second thought- a screen grab of the situation might help.

I think I might've renamed video tracks and reordered them... can't remember now. Somehow, when I add a video track, it doesn't add it on top. Here's a screen shot.

Basically I get no image from V3 but if I play the playhead, V2 &V4 will show an image. Thx!:

That is probably your problem. When you move tracks around on Avid, they retain their original layer
hierarchy. Weird but true.

If you create 6 tracks and then delete number 4...then create a new track, it will simply recreate a V4 for you .
