Hello,

I'm working with footage from Nikons new D800 and I'm trying to transcode the AMA footage that and this is what comes up when I go to transcode?

Range specified for Dup is outside range of component

I'm stumped!

Thanks.

I've come across that from time to time - no explanation for it, but I got around it by subclipping first, then transcoding the subclips. It may or may not work depending on the material, and in those cases, one subclip ends the frame before the next one starts (as in the case of an interview, etc.)

I've had some nightmarish experiences wit this error using Avid 5.03 on Windows. Could not reliably AMA/transcode any H264 footage (Canon) or Arri Alexa footage. Unlinking and relinking individual clips sometimes worked but in the end, ended up importing...which took an immensely long time and resulted in color shifts that needed to be corrected.

I've not seen the error on systems running 5.5 and higher.

Thanks Guys,

I have 5.5 so I'm not too sure why this is? I will give the subclip rout a shot and see what happens. I started re-exporting the files to a DNxHD format using MPEG Encoder then I will import. It worked on a testing level so hopefully it'll work with everything else.

Still open to suggestions.

Thanks!

I have found that error to pop up more frequently the longer the source clip duration... how long are the clips being transcoded? Are they from spanned files?
