 | Splice-In tool (with mouse) with multiple audio tracks
by Frederic Lumiere on May 15, 2012 at 4:21:12 pm |
Everytime I feel I'm starting to really know MC, I stumble upon a simple need I simply can't figure out... so I come here!
I've been using the splice-in tool with the mouse and Command key to rearrange clips in the timeline. Been working great. But when I want to move a clip with 1 audio track between clips with 2 audio tracks, the second audio track of the destination doesn't slide. I tried turning on the little hash tag switch next to the track label but it still doesn't slide.
Anyone can help? Thanks!

Select the blank filler on track 2 with the VA1 Clip and all should work

Ah, I see what my problem is. It's impossible to select the blank filler on track2 with the VA1 clip because it is preceded by a clip with no audio on track2. Even though when I put an IN & OUT at first it looks like it will grab track2 with it but as soon as I drag it, it drops track2.
If the filler is surrounded by audio, then it is possible to drag it with VA1.
Makes sense Mike?

If the filler on track 2 is part of a longer stretch of filler, you can use the add edit tool to split the filler into lengths that match V/A1, then you can select it and move it around with the other tracks.
