Just bought a Sony A77 DSLR to shoot HD video and edit on my Quad Core Mac running Media Composer 5.5.1.

Can anyone tell me the basic workflow? I can't even get the camera to show up on the desktop when connected via the USB cable supplied. The software that came with it is only for PC. I am frustrated.

I'm an experienced pro editor, but this workflow is new to me.

Please help.

I don't know that camera, but does it use SD card? Of so, Then but a card reader, I believe they are pretty cheap.
