HD Monitor (Broadcast)
by Martin Callan on Nov 5, 2009 at 4:32:49 pm

My employer asked me to check in with "my sources" to see what folks are using for monitoring HD material that is for broadcast. We have a Sony Bravia in the suite but no critical HD monitor. Also, it would be nice to have a small version of the same monitor that could be used on shoots in the field.

I am currently using a Sony PVW 20M4U CRT for monitoring and color correction of SD material. The new Sony CRT for HD is approx. $11,500. Ouch!
Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Marty

I highly recommend the Flanders Scientific monitors:

$2500 for the 17" and $5000 for the 24". They won't break the bank.
