AVID and QuickTimePro Codec
by charles li on Nov 1, 2009 at 8:05:14 am

Hi there,

this is my first post.

We are using AVID NC v7, we imported P2 footage, after cutting the stories, we export it as QuickTime Procoder file, mov file, by using avid codec. we then convert it to mepg2 file by Canopus versrion 3. some part of this P2 footage looks jittery, it seems that there are some interlacing problem. why is that? is it because of any possible conflict between AVID and QT pro codec?

Is there any way we can check this?

Many thanks

There is a bug in modern day Avids that introduces interlacing in precomputes and motion effects unless you mix it down first. I thought it was only in reference files but do a mixdown and export a gain and see if that doesn't fix it.
