Avid Error Message

Help if you can!

After deleting a huge project (working with an AVID Newscutter XP on a Dell Precision 650 running Windows XP Pro) through media tool, then deleting the old database and re-starting AVID, I got this lovely error message:

EXCEPTION: omfHPdomain_ERROR_CLOSING_DOMAIN.
AN error occurred validating media directory.

That was followed by this error message:

EXCEPTION: Failed Lock. The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of that file.

I assume this means I have some corrupt files somewhere. Our tech guy was able to get it back to some normalcy by isolating a few files BUT we're still having problems especially if we delete media or move media to another drive and of course some media that I need is gone. The tech guy wants to delete ALL my drives but I'm fighting that in hopes there is a better solution, such as merely scanning the drives and quarantining the corrupt files. We have 2 internal tarabyte drives and 2 external drives.
Any solutions other then wiping everything out??

Have you seen the AVID KB article on this. Looks like you might have already taken these steps though:
