What QT format to use
by Cole Prine on Aug 17, 2009 at 2:28:18 pm

Hey guys, I'm a FCP user and I have to send a Quicktime of a commercial I just finished up to another company that works on AVID. We work in DVCPRO-HD, but they tell me that they can't pull in DVCPRO-HD. So, what's a good HD format to convert the QT to that they shouldn't have any problems with?

This is probably a pretty basic question, but I haven't worked much with AVID.

Thanks,

Cole

Ok, I found out they use XD CAM so I just exported it as XD CAM HD 422. Seems to have worked well.

For future reference, you can download the Avid codec at http://www.avid.com/dnxhd, then export in DNxHD codec from FCP.
