Calling all Experts! Just digged, clips on timeline stuttery then error. First for me
by Kiya Paris on Jun 20, 2009 at 7:41:51 pm

Hello everyone,

Im not a newbie in editing. I do my research as well. However, I am encountering a problem for the very first time. I digitized some footage shot on the sony hvr-z1u in 1080i 60i. My project format 1080i 59.94. threw some clips on the timeline and playback is a no go only audio. Seems I get this red render line on the bottom as well. I ususally always have experience in cutting p2 footage. so I dont know what is wrong. A quick help or guidance will be greatly appreciative for this hard working gal. :).

Thank you in advance.

Sounds like your drives aren't fast enough. What kind of drives are you using? what resolution are you working at?

The red line in the timecode bar indicates you're dropping frames.

Do you see any blue or yellow lines?

Blue will indicate drives while yellow indicates the processor is having issues keeping up.

Have you worked with HD on this machine before?

Transcode your footage to one of the DNxHD resolution.
we had the same issue with DVCpro media (1280x720), But your clips are full HD,so I am not sure if you got the same problem.
