A quick keyboard shortcut tip I just learned.

You know, I've taken so much from the Cow, I wanted to give something back.
Using MC v11.1 on an older Meridien system, I just learned that if I type in a number on the keypad for a timecode to go to. Once I type it in, I can just hit -enter- and it will remember the timecode and go to it. I use this alot when exporting files to put exactly 1:00 of pad at the beginning for compression to the web.
That is my input. Hopefully this isn't a widely known shortcut...and hopefully someone gets something out of it!

Excellent shortcut. To add to this, if you hit + or - on the keypad before you type in numbers you'll advance or go back that many frames. So if you want to go forward 2 seconds you hit +200 on the keypad. If you want to go forward 200 frames hit +200f.
Plus, Avid remembers however frames you chose to advance to go back (like going to timecode), so if you need to add an edit point every 3 seconds hit +300 Enter then Add Edit. Then just hit Enter again and it will go forward another 3 seconds.

Is there a way to move selected clips a certain number of frames with typed number?
for example, I would like to select a bunch of clips on timeline, type "-25" and they would shift 25 frames to the left. This way it works in Premiere and FCP and it`s really useful. The same would be for shifting forward, just with typing a number of frames. Or do I need to load a filler, set In and Out to 25 frames and then splice it in?

Only way I would know is the second way you described...you can use your sync tracks to splice in one track and not break the sync between two other tracks.
The keypad is (or seems to be) reserved for only moving your time cursor...to a specific time code or a certain number of frames.

Thanks Jason. I am new to Avid and am still looking for ways that make Avid editing faster than editing in anything else. And i seem to find one every other day :)

No problem Jiri,
I get frustrated at some of the features that others seem to offer that AVID just seems way behind on. But it's a great interface and the media management is fantastic. I've only been working on it for about 4-5 years and I still learn stuff all the time.
