I am trying to export a clip out of avid as an AVI but the file size seems to have a limit of 2gig. I can't find a setting that lets me make a bigger file than this. Can someone tell me if this is as good as it gets, or is there a work around.

There is a 2GB limit on AVI exports from Avid. Why? Not sure. Last I heard it's because of the type of AVI Avid can export, which was originally subject to a 2GB limit for some reason.
The best way to get around this is to export a Quicktime and take it to a computer with Sorenson or ProCoder or another compression/conversion program and convert the quicktime to an AVI there. If you have one of these programs installed on your Avid just export a Quicktime Reference, then convert it.
