Audio Output problem
by Duane Fulk (dafulk) on Jun 23, 2008 at 12:28:23 pm

On output from AVID Adrenaline to Digibeta or SP tape I am getting a distortion which sounds like a sample rate problem, however I can play the timeline and the audio is good. If I go to the deck and crash record and play the timeline the audio is good. It only shows up on the tape when going through the output tool. I've check the settings and everything is at 48000. Is there a setting somewhere that might cause this? It isn't consistant and seems to be project related. Any Suggestions?

Thanks,

Duane

Are you going digital or analog audio to Dbeta? Do you hear it when monitoring the output of the VTR, the Avid or both? What happens if you try to digital cut only audio with video off?

I'd check my reference to the VTRs and the Avid. WHen you are using digital cut to output, the system is checking for a common sync reference and that may be the difference between playing the timeline and using the output tool.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I have found the answer. The output tool was set to RT DV25 when it should have been set to RT DNA. That solved a problem with output of 4 channels from the timeline, and hopefully the distortion problems as well. I haven't had time to check that out yet.
