Multi-Cam Editing
by Derek Van Winkle on May 21, 2008 at 3:20:47 pm

I have a multi-cam edit that was very informal. The cameras all started and ended at different times. When I want to mix them together, I have to sync. Is their any way I can not sync the video? I know I can do that in PP CS3.

Also, is their a way to reduce the preview quality so I'll have real-time video?

Thanks.

As far as reducing quality, the idea is to digitize at an 'm' resolution. You can't reduce the quality of a clip that's already digitized.

Have you grouped your clips? Are you working in multicam mode?

The clips are already digitized at DV 25 Full Quality. I've already grouped the clips and have worked in multi-cam mode for a while. The problem I'm facing is that I can't get real time playback of all four streams.

I have done multi-cam in PP CS3 and all of the streams played back perfectly.

Is their something I'm doing wrong?

Thanks.

The only thing you can do to get 4 streams of playback is to redigitize at a lower resolution (an 'm' resolution). Then decompose your sequence and regigize only the clips you used in the edit.
