Potential workflow + problems

Hi all,
Recently I posted a problem with shifting some 24f rough cut reels to Avid. We want to go through the post process in 24fps, if possible. I decided on the following process:
Step1, encode HDV tape, using Canon XHA1 as a deck into an .m2t file using Aspect HD.
Step 2, Use MPEG Streamclip to export the .m2t into a Quicktime Avid DNxHD file. I converted to 1080p24 DNxHD 175 10-bit codec.
Step 3, Import the Quicktime into Xpress Pro. Cutt in a 1080p24 project.
A few questions, for anyone able to help:
1) Color looks a little strange. We set the quicktime conversion to Millions of Colors+ (as opposed to just Millions), and color levels to 709 rather than RGB levels. Are these the best choices?
2) Is that the right codec to be using? In particular, should it be 23.98 or 24fps? Half the footage in the timeline looks fine, but quite a bit looks very stuttery (which it definitely isn't originally).
Any other thoughts/questions/comments are massively appreciated.

Hi Terence,
Because we shot in 24f. We somehow weren't aware (after a decent amount of research) that Avid couldn't handle it.
This is our first project, on a nothing budget, with an editor who's cutting us an amazing deal - so it's a matter of forcing things to work, however much pre-edit work it entails for us.

Hmm. Not really that clued up on Component Out. Isn't it analogue? More importantly, isn't it for lining out to capture while shooting? Our project has been shot already.
Here's the previous thread with a better rundown of what we're actually dealing with:
