Hi guys,
I'm having a media issue. A ton of my MXF has gone offline. The MXF is broken up into several folders on the Unity space, depending on which room it was capture in. After a clip randomly went offline, I deleted the MSM database from two of the folders. However, AVID will not rebuild the database in those two. Now, all media located in those two folders will not re-link. Am I doing something wrong here? Can I force it to rebuild databases in those two folders?

hi there.
i had the same problem a few days ago. corrupt clip on unity, trashed the media, erased the MSMs, then couldn't get the MSMs to rebuild (i paniced a bit here)....so....at the desktop level, i found a Unity media folder that still had it's MSMs in it, then dragged the media from the OLD folders (the ones you deleted from that don't have any MSMs) to the folder that does still have it's databases in it. when i started Avid up again, it scanned the Unity folder that i added the clips to and they all came up online. yay!

If you have multiple clients on Unity sharing the same Unity workspace, you must shut down all client workstations and reboot before the databases will rebuild. The databases will have to be rebuilt for all clients. Until this happens, media will appear offline.
