Over-imposed Images

Does anyone know how to do "over-imposed" images on the timeline, from 2 diff. clips to create a translusent image?

You can use the superimpose effect from the blend category. It won't give you transfer modes (multiply, overlay, screen, etc.) like After Effects will, but there's an old (and free) plugin floating around from the DMN forum that will.
