Do any of the Mojo products allow for HD output?

Looking to input HDV material into newest version of MC and was trying to figure out monitoring solutions. This is for the "offline" only. Online will be done at a facility but it would be nice to have a way to see HDV on some sort of external monitor.

There's no HD Mojo. Hopefully Avid will announce some new, affordable HD hardware soon, but in the meantime, it's Adrenaline for HD or SD downconvert with Mojo. Unless you have an LCD or Plasma you can hook up to your system and use the Full Screen Playback for your HDV footage. I've never tried this, but it might work.

Is the Mojo DX really listed for $10K? It's still no where near the price of Aja hardware. What would the advantage be to get a Mojo DX for 6 or 7K more?. I could see the Nitrus DX for 10K... but even then...
Does anyone out there have more info on the price points of their new line of hardware?

The new Mojo gives you one SDI port which can output both HD and SD and one HDMI port for HD preview. Also has various audio i/o.
I think the next step up is the Nitris DX at 16k which gives you complete i/o like add'l SDI and component i/o all active like a Kona 3.
Top of the line is the Nitris Symphony around $36 which gives you the same Nitris DX hardware but the upgraded software.
Not sure if any of this is going to get people excited about Avid. There were probably 300 to 400 people in the theater (very full) last night but I saw only 2 or 3 that were under 30 years old.

These prices, if correct, are high compared to FCP. 16K for the equivelent of the SDI i/o Kona 3? I am not sure why it would make economic sense to go this route unless these are turnkey system prices.

I believe these prices include MC software but no CPU etc. and they must run on a approved Mac or PC with available PCIe slot - no more firewire.
They can run on a laptop via PCIe adapter card.
My point about the age of the crowd - avg. age around 50 - the younger FCP/other NLE crowd isn't going to be wooed by these new set-ups. The HD Mojo should be in the 5 grand range with software to compete with Kona/FCP.

I had prices listed in my article http://www.hdhead.com/?p=139 but there is some talk that Avid asked users at the L.A. pre-NAB event not to talk about them so I removed them from the article. In all honesty I don't remember they asked that and neither do some other people who attended.
They didn't really reveal all the prices and the Avid staff on the floor seemed to have little information.
Anyway, the price points that we did find out are much lower than they used to be. You will find out on Monday.

Let's see what else they roll out. It's premature to jump to conclusions. Also the comparisons with Kona 3 and FCP need to take into account other factors.
Just yesterday I was troubleshooting an odd audio problem in FCP for a client who was livid because as he claimed something like that would never happen on an Avid.
Most of the editors I work with always complain about little glitches and issues they face when working in FCP. When you're in a bay with a client working on a facility level this stuff costs you money. I'm not saying there aren't problems with Avids too but it's a more stable platform for what it's designed to do.
