I've batched digitized a tape in avid but forgot to change the tape name. so two tapes are digitized with the same name. I want to change the wrong one to the correct tape name. If i change it in the Digitize tool the tape name changes for both sets of clips. If i unlink the set that has the wrong name and modify the source i can change it to the correct tape name. however when i go to re-link it will fail and i will have to change it back. How do i fix this? Each tape is in its own bin. Any help is appreciated. thanks

I also should have pointed out that just highlighting the clips and going to clip-modify and selecting source and changing the tape name does not work. It gives me an error saying you cannon modify a master cliped when it is linked. that is why i tried unlinking it. also i'm using avid media composer 12.0.5 on mac os x

no! don't need to delete!
select wrongly labelled clips, clip, modify, source and when the reel list comes up either select the correct reel or create a new one then click ok to the 76 patronising messages that follow!
no need to relink, unlink or recapture, its an easy mistake, in fact there are many instances when you may need to change a reel number, assistants being the most common!

Do you have both tapes in your tape-list?
if not, you'll have to create the non-existing one. (open digitize tool and open the tape menu)
then mark all the wrong named clips, righ-click them, modify and set source to the corresponding tape.
(all in all it's the process amheus already described)
